  1. My favorite Teacher films are the Planet earth series from discovery channel because the educational videos are update to date and the pictures are amazing.

  11. My favorite teacher movie is Freedom Writers, because Ms. Priester stars in it! Supposedly, the lead actress is Hilary Swank but we all know that it really was Ms. Priester.

Name that quote, "Bueller, Bueller,"...that's an old school "teacher-scene" fav., because I have def felt like that! ...on a fairly-current, inspiring note: I really like "Coach Carter" because he sets high expectations and you see the kids first resist...then rise. Reminder to not give up on people easily.

  17. Stand and Deliver. This movie resonates with me because of the work he did for the students. Also, the reaction of the establishment (White) was amazing. If this was a school in Holiwood, it will be all over Television and newspaper. However, because these kids were from the barrios and Latinos, the reaction was not very cordial. They were branded as cheats. The story had a good ending.

  18. I agree with Jade...Planet Earth. I use it with Science units and as background pictures, without sound, as the kids are working in groups

  19. A great teacher movie is "The Miracle Worker" with Anne Bancroft as Annie Sullivan and Patty Duke as Helen Keller.

  21. My current favorite teacher movie is Grid Iron Gang. This movie is more about the football team, but the coach is really attached to his players and he deeply cares for them. Their relationship with each other was strong and grew as the season went on.

  22. The Great Debaters is one of my favorite teacher movies because it revealed how segregation was devastating to both whites and blacks during the period of the Jim Crow Laws in the South.
